As another weekend of fun ends, another hectic week of work begins. I’m on my way back to Brighton desperately preparing for another week of meetings. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday I’m in London - each day with a different client and feel very un-prepared. Obviously, being out of the office 4 days last week has left me with a mountain of work to catch up on, but has given me the bonus of a week with the Laptop and 3G card so I can make best use of all this travelling time.
After our Team building day on Friday, I met Tim, Nick and Jim in The Lounge on James Street West in Bath for some later-than-planned drinks. The Lounge is the lads favourite drinking establishment at the mo - and i don’t blame them. It’s a really relaxed, chilled out bar with loads of really fit girls working and drinking there. We chatted to the barmaid Iolia (Russian hotty) and some random girl who called herself Ra, claimed to be a Wedding Planner - come part time estate agent, and owned a house in Lewes? It turns out she really worked for HelpHire as an admin assistant, had a kid and lived in one of Bath’s many council estates. Hmmm. Women these days will say anything to get a chance to chat to me I guess!
Saturday, slightly hungover, I worked with Ben on his website in the afternoon before meeting Davey Scouse in the Dolphin for some birthday drinks. Dave’s just come back from 6 weeks at a Thai Kick Boxing camp in Phuket, looking like your archetypal traveller; with long curly hair, designer stubble and stories of Asian conquests! Good Lad. Glyn was there too as well as Niamh, Jonny Pie Man and Gemma - good to see people I don’t see very often again - as well as all the usual crowd. At around 10 we headed into town to what used to be Cadillacs. Now Cadillacs is no longer Cadillacs - its now called Club XL - but it is still the same awful shit hole it ever was - except sporting a new paint job and a few plasma screen TV’s stuck to the walls no doubt with years of congealed sick. After a few over priced drinks watching skank hoes & Chavs look ugly we decided enough was enough and left for The Lounge again. Best decision ever. We drank the best cocktails ever and chatted til about 6am to some decent music - Sweet! Tim and I ended up trying to take artistic photos of each other and of random objects around Moley’s house. Strange what Double Espresso and Ameretto cocktails can do!
Today, I have been to see my Mum for what I feel will be my last time at our family home for Sunday Lunch (the House sale is imminent). Sarah and Laura were there (no Amy as she is away pretending to be a rich upper class student at Cambridge Uni), who were in a rather perculiar mood - sitting giggling for hours at chipmunk noises on Laura’s laptop. I really do have the most bizarre family in the world! OK - my train is rapidly approaching London Paddington where I have about 17 minutes to get over to Victoria to catch the train to Hove, so must dash. If I make it I’ll be back in Brighton in under 3 hours. Pay for what you get I suppose - the cheaper coast route takes about 5 hours on a Sunday!
