Another year, another party for Jane! Miss Brinkley’s Birthday has to be my most regularly attended birthday (other than my own!) - I don’t think i’ve missed one in 6 years! This year, like the last 2, we met at Jane’s on Middle Street for some early evening drinks before heading to a club. Unlike previous years, we didn’t end up in the Ocean Rooms, we went to Audio in Brighton where The Bays were headlining with their bi-monthly residency.
It was a great night - if a little quieter than the last few years - with Naomi and Huw in South Africa, Bignold in South America, and Ryan being lame in London! Most of the usual crowd were there though, and it was great to catch up with the Sussex crew! I forgot my camera this year unfortunately - so haven’t got a set of funny photos like last year.
I didn’t know what to make of the Bays I must say. They play kind of progressive house with a few drum and bass style tunes thrown in - all as a live band with a crazy drummer! They are good - its refreshing to hear dance music played live by a band, rather than a DJ, but for a saturday night, the music was a little mellow and made me want to chill out with a Corona on the beach rather than dance until 4am in a dark club. Still had plenty of Corona’s and Boogied til the end!
So what a busy week I have ahead. Manchester on Tuesday, Edinburgh on Thursday, London on Friday and Bath for the Weekend! I love travelling I do’s!
