The overwhelming memory of this weekend will forever be the size, smell and taste of the best roast dinner in the world EVER! Tantric recommended the Waggon and Horses in Batheaston nr Bath as a cracking lunch and he wasn’t wrong. The Waggon and Horses is on the outskirts of Bath with views overlooking the Avon Valley and a big open fire in the centre.
So as you might have guessed, I was in Bath this weekend. I arrived back after a long, slow and horrifically delayed train journey from Brighton. I’m sure many of you have noticed the railways getting much much better this year? Well - they are shagged at the moment! Both to and from Bath we were delayed by at least an hour - and yesterday to London we were also delayed. Bloody Leaves! The upside was chatting to a really nice guy, first about the state of the railway, then about random work/family/play related stuff. I don’t normally talk to people on trains - I just stick my headphones in and bury my face in a book - but this guy was really genuine and great to talk to. Reassures one that the Great British public are not all that bad!

I met the lads in Lambrettas and, as usual, we went on to The Lounge for late night drinks. Nick and I spiked Tantric’s drink with Balsamic Vinegar. Obviously, Tim noticed, but decided he would drink it for a dare. Whilst we chatted to a beautifully, intelligent and well-spoken girl called Catherine (from Melrose Grove - one of the skankiest streets in Bath!), Tantric was not being his usual Tantric self. I went to the toilet, as you do, and in falls Timmy through the door, a delightful balsamic brown colour liquid eminating from his mouth. Lovely! I think the lesson from this Tantric - Don’t drink Vinegar based cocktails :-)

Saturday evening we started at a new bar - Gascoyne Place - which is really a restaurant with table service. I nearly got away without paying for a £20 round - I literally forgot and walked out only for the waitress to come hurrying after me! Amit’s friend Jim from Uni came down which was great as i haven’t seen him for about 3 years! We did a slight pub crawl around Bath, including the HaHa Bar - where Amit got kicked out for flicking the Christmas Tree, swiftly followed by the rest of us for singing ‘rock out with your cock out’! This Country! Finally we went to TheCube - one of Bath’s many underground clubs - where my sisters ex-boyfriend Joe was playing Solo Acoustic Guitar. We had a good chat - I feel sorry for him as my sister has buggered off to uni and predictably dumped him in the first term. Joe has a really bright future though as he is a great guitarist. Don’t worry dude - Women are all sl#gs - you’ll meet another, although she won’t be as good as my sister (family solidarity takes precedence - sorry!)
