I’ve just removed my right contact lens to find it was inside out, leaving my eye extremely bloodshot. A little bit like Le Cheffre! (Evil comparisons once more!) Yes, I’ve just been to see Casino Royale. Yes, I highly recommend it. Yes Daniel Craig is a good James Bond, if not a slightly odd and rather plain Bond, which is maybe why I think he was good. He does have an awfully small head for someone with such a large, tonk body don’t you think? I bought a big bag of Haribo for everyone to share, cos that’s the kind of nice guy I am, but no-one else wanted them so I ate them all myself. I feel a bit wired now, may have to do some press ups or something to help purge the sugar rush before bed. I may have dodgy dreams!
This weekend has been really good - I enjoyed muchly! After work on Friday, I met Warwick from Bath, which was really nice. Its always great to catch up with Mr B who’s such a great listener with a superbly wry wit! We always have loads to talk about but, as per, time was short and I had a blind date set up for me by Alex’s girlfriend (I’ll come to that later)! Actually, no I won’t, I’ll come to that now! The date didn’t go too well, a, because I was 2 hours late and b, because Alex and Fi had the most acrimonious break up ever!
We started the evening in Cafe Iguana and moved on to The Black Lion where the fireworks began. I felt really bad for the whole situation - especially for Fi - who was very upset. I felt bad largely because it felt good talking to Fi. It was horrid hearing the pain she was feeling with her partner wanting to leave her, but it was good sharing an understanding of how this feels inside - the helplessness - the heartache. Its obviously something of which I have recent first hand experience - it felt good because I realised how far I have come since June. How good I actually feel right now. It was so hard knowing how quickly she will get over it, but how she must feel now - that she will never recover. It was so hard not to come out with all the old ‘you’ll get over him’ cliches even though they are so true!
Anyway, lets just say the night actually ended with bloodshed, which really wasn’t nice so I’ll move on!
Saturday I met Tom, Jon, Alex and Dan in the Windmill to watch the Rugby. It was my first experience of High Definition TV - and I really was impressed. The picture quality is incredible and immediately noticeable! After, everyone went for a Curry, then continued the evening at the Regency Arms. I ducked out of the curry for the gym and as a result it really didn’t take me long to get pished! By 11 I actually had to go home feeling particularly wasted!
Sunday was the loveliest day of the weekend. I cooked a roast for Jane, Naomi, Mike and Abi. It was a fine Roast Chicken with all the trimmings - including Tesco’s Finest Chipolatas! Yum! We had loads of fun winding up some 16 year old girl on Bebo, also called Naomi Spurr, and found loads of really bad photos of us at Christmas 2 years ago.
Right, I’m off to bed now. Off to Edinburgh in the morning at 5am. Nice! Toodle pip.
