Yesterday was the most un-eventful day ever. I hung around in Gatwick for hours, bored of shopping but too restless to sit still. I’m really excited at the moment - I shall reveal why later! The most exciting part of the day was walking over the huge new bridge they’ve built at Gatwick - thats how dull it was! The flight was practically empty and a little turbulent - which is always good fun! Adz gave me a points system for pulling a flight attendant (15 points - 5 points for a Swiss girl!). Unfortunately, only one was female and had a lazy eye - so Bollox to that. There was a well kept Camp Canadia guy however - and you didn’t specify gender Adz!
I arrived in Geneva in the dark and headed for the underground train station. So much for Swiss railways being the dogs - I had to wait an hour for a train from the county’s 2nd largest airport to the capital! The 2 hour train journey through the pitch black mountains was slow and by the time I arrived in Bern it was practically time to go to bed. I say practically - enough time to go for a few pints! After a quick bite to eat, we went to the Pickwick pub where they serve Tetley’s on tap, sell Walkers crisps and show Sky Sports on Plasma screens! Like i’d never left Brighton! I got chatting to a Dutch guy (the manager) about FC Thun’s Champions League game against Arsenal last year, when 1000 Arsenal fans packed the streets of Bern and the pub. He managed to wangle a free ticket for a round of beers lucky guy!
I’m off out now to have a wander around Bern and try to take some photos while its still light! Caio
