I visited the Blue Mountains by train from Sydney. The Blue Mountains are surprisingly easy to get to. Jump on a train from Sydney Central station to either Wentworth Falls, Leura, Katoomba, Medlow Bath, Blackheath, Mount Victoria, Bell, Zig Zag and Lithgow. Timetables can be found here. I got off at Leura, which is the stopping point for the three sisters, Skyway cable car and a decent bus tour around the nature trails. A day at the Blue mountains is fun but will be very tiring. The journey each way is about 3 hours and there is a lot o walking, so don’t forget you book!
