We’ve travelled up the east coast of Brazil from Rio to Salvador. To save time we cheated and flew with Tam via Sao Paulo. A piece of advice; you need to book Tam flights through a third party, as you need a brazilian national insurance number, which of course neither Marju or I have. If you phone the UK call centre they add an extra £100 to the ticket price so be warned! Expedia offers the same cheap flights at brazilian price but without the charge.

Salvador is lovely and sunny compared to the rain of Rio. We’ve spent much of the time changing hostels, finding a launderette and sunbathing, so not much to report really! The beaches are really nice
